Emily joined the firm as a Trainee Solicitor, qualifying as Solicitor in our employment team in 2020.
Emily joined the firm in 2018 on a training contract which she completed in 2020, cementing her permanent role as a Solicitor in our employment law team.
Over the period of her training contract, Emily spent time in each department to gain a wide range of knowledge from all of our legal teams. She gained vital experience dealing with clients on a day to day basis, as well as supporting the senior members of her team with live and challenging cases.
In the second year of her training contract, Emily began a 6 month secondment with our neighbours at North Star Housing. Emily’s role was to assist North Star’s development team with their property due diligence work in preparation for a potential large scale refinancing project.
Since qualifying into the employment team, Emily has rapidly developed her experience in Employment Tribunal litigation assisting both claimants and respondents and she has gained experience in restrictive covenants disputes and pre-dismissal case-work and immigration work.
Emily graduated from Newcastle University with a degree in law in 2017. She transferred to Northumbria University to complete her LPC, gaining a distinction in 2018.
Emily took part in the Endeavour Partnership work experience programme in 2017, and after graduating from Northumbria she joined Nomad Digital, a subsidiary of Alstom Group, in the summer of 2018 as a paralegal before starting her training programme.
Outside of her client work, Emily enjoys working with a secondary school in Darlington in their career and enterprise offerings as an Enterprise Adviser.
