Martin began his career with the firm in 2010 and was appointed partner in 2019. Martin specialises in M&A and general corporate matters.
Martin practises in all areas of corporate law including internal re-organisations, constitutional matters, mergers, sales and acquisitions. Martin’s M&A work involves acting for the seller(s), the buyer(s), banks, private equity firms, insolvency practitioners and investment funds across a range of sales, acquisitions, distressed deals, inbound funding, equity buy-outs, management buy-out, fund exits and financing arrangements.
Martin also practices in general commercial law dealing with high-value complex commercial contracts such as contracts for the supply of goods and/or services, distribution agreements, franchise agreements, agency agreements and various IT contracts (such as development agreements, licence agreements and SaaS/PaaS agreements)

Martin’s recent relevant experience includes:
- Acting for a SaaS company in relation to multiple investments (equity and debt) into the company by various institutional and angel investors with a cumulative investment value of circa £5m.
- Acting for an IFA company in an investment and partial exit with a total deal value of £3m and then acting for the shareholders of the same IFA company on the sale of the company to a private equity backed buyer with a total deal value of circa £37.5m.
- Acting for a national leisure company in an investment and partial exit with a total deal value of circa £45m.
- Acting for the shareholders of a biochemical company in the sale of the entire issued share capital of the company to a US private equity backed buyer with a total deal value of circa £3.5m.
- Acting for a German company in its entry into the UK market via a series of acquisitions and investments with a total cumulative deal value of circa £5m.
- Acting for the shareholders of a recruitment agency company in the sale of the entire issued share capital of the company to a private equity backed buyer with a total deal value of £8m.
- Acting for the shareholders of an engineering firm in the sale of the entire issued share capital of the company to a private equity backed buyer with a total deal value of circa £8m.
- Acting for the shareholders of a technology company in its £10m merger with a national angel investment backed company.
- Acting for the shareholders of a security systems distribution company in the sale of the entire issued share capital of the company for circa £20m.
