Specialising in transactional work Nigel is also passionate about providing owner-managers with affordable legal solutions throughout the lifespan of their business.
Nigel joined our firm in 2018 as a Partner in the Corporate and Commercial department, having worked at large national firms throughout his career. Nigel’s connections and experience have helped add to the firm’s growing reputation for corporate work and he works regularly on transactions with local, national and international elements.
With almost thirty years’ experience dealing with owner-managers as well as large corporates, Nigel has completed a huge range of transactions across all sectors including retail, hospitality, manufacturing, process, engineering and energy sectors, many in his native Teesside. These include sales, acquisitions, management buy-outs, joint ventures and mergers.
Nigel also carries out work for the public sector, acting for local authorities selling assets to the private sector and over the past few years assisting with the various regeneration projects currently happening on Teesside including in relation to the airport, local railway stations and the former Redcar Steelworks site.
Nigel says “I came back to work on Teesside as this is my home and where I started my career. I want to continue trying to help local owners, businesses and organisations achieve their goals by providing support with clear, understandable advice”.
Nigel is also a trustee of Tees Valley Community Foundation, an independent non-profit grant-making organisation.
When Nigel became involved in our project, he picked up the history and ‘got’ what was important to us very quickly. He took time to explain to us the issues and risks, and fought hard to protect our position.
