Announcing our nominated charity for 2024

Posted by Lotty Reeves on 17th January 2024

We’re delighted to announce that we’ll be supporting Clean Slate Solutions as our nominated charity of 2024. Since 2019, Clean Slate Solutions has stood as a beacon of hope, providing meaningful second chances to people with past convictions by facilitating the employment of over 300 individuals in Tees Valley and North Yorkshire.

The organisation was chosen following the firm’s charity team learning about the organisation’s commendable initiatives to rehabilitate ex-offenders during The Teesside Charity‘s Pitching for Purpose event. At the event they told their story of how they believe providing ex-offenders a pathway into meaningful and sustainable employment is essential to enable people to leave the past behind and become contributing members of society.

Richard Brice, founder of Clean Slate Solutions, said: “Employers are desperate for new talent, and there’s so much talent in prison; it just needs linking in and facilitating sensibly, and that’s what we’ve been able to do.

“The charity supports people with the basic things first in the initial stages. Then, when we are confident, they are settled and ready for employment, we introduce them to the employer base we are connected with.

“Our selection process is key. Through dedicated mentorship, we understand each candidate’s background, ensuring we match them with relevant employers; from disclosure to interviews, we oversee the whole process, and our support doesn’t end at placement. For up to 6 months, we stand beside both candidates and employers, ensuring thriving and lasting partnerships.”

Richard continued: “To be chosen as charity of the year by such a prestigious organisation was such a great moment for us all and a great way to start 2024.

“Thank you to all that have been involved in the process to champion our cause.”

Jessica Lenham, partner and head of the firm’s charity team commented: “We’re thrilled to be supporting Clean Slate Solutions as the firm’s Charity of the Year in 2024.

“With so many brilliant causes to choose from it’s always difficult to decide which charity to support, but the passion of the team at Clean Slate and the positive impact the charity has already had in the short time since it was founded made it our clear winner. We’re looking forward to working with the team throughout the rest of this year and helping to make a real difference in the local area.”

The Endeavour Partnership set up its nominated charity scheme in a bid to support smaller, Teesside-based organisations that directly support the local community. The firm has raised thousands of pounds over the years by encouraging staff and clients to take part in a variety of fundraising events.
