Who is the Headlight Project?
Founded in memory of Russ Devereux, the Headlight Project is teaching children about mental health, providing support and help for adults and working in collaboration with other organisations to deliver emotional resilience workshops, and one to one counselling.
The Headlight Project has a particular focus in supporting individuals and families who have been affected by suicide.
Having experienced complex grief following the death of her husband, Catherine Devereux was keen to set up a support mechanism for others who had experienced similar grief.
Working with individuals, groups and businesses, the charity is hoping to attract organisations to purchase their training packages, so they are able to continue providing their services throughout the region.

What services does Endeavour provide?
Catherine: “I wanted to create something that was sustainable, that would help people suffering from poor mental health and those dealing with grief. It was clear to me early on that our services should be delivered as a charity.
“Setting up a charity is complex and dealing with the charity commission is, rightly, a detailed process. Endeavour supported us with the legal aspects to ensure we were able to provide the services as efficiently as possible.”
“It was a challenging time and the team at Endeavour took us through the process with ease, ensuring all the boxes were ticked. I don’t think I had ever thought about process and responsibility and they asked enough questions to make sure our objectives were achieved whilst managing the setup.”
Why Endeavour?
“I started my legal career with the Endeavour Partnership many years ago before leaving to support my husband and his business. I have the first-hand experience of the efforts of the team to ensure they are delivering the best solutions for their clients.”
“The business community in the Tees Valley is unique; there are many extremely talented businesses, of various sizes, doing amazing things. The Endeavour Partnership applies the same detailed methodology to every one of their clients, regardless of size. By getting to know the organisation and understanding their objectives, they are able to provide individual advice, tailored to the specific organisation. I knew we needed their expert team to deal with our very personal operation and they didn’t let me down.”
“The firm’s philosophy of providing the very best legal advice from some of the leading lawyers in the region, whilst maintaining a friendly, family feel aligns with our own values. We would recommend their services across all four of their departments.”
As well as being a valued client, The Headlight Project has been nominated by staff to be the firm’s charity of 2020. Unfortunately due to the pandemic, Endeavour’s fundraising events have had to be postponed however the team have come up with some great ways to continue to create awareness of this amazing organisation.

During the first week of June, the Commercial Property team used the time and money they’ve saved avoiding the daily commute to do something worthwhile.
