The Basic Payments Scheme (BPS) online system for England was suspended in March 2015 due to ‘technical problems’. As a result, farmers have been invited to finalise claim applications using ‘tried and tested’ paper forms instead.
The Rural Payments Agency (RPA) has moved the application deadline from 15th May to 15th June 2015. Farmers in England who have registered with the Basic Payment Scheme (BPS) online system should receive pre-populated BP5 claim forms in the next few weeks.
Comprehensive BPS guidance, including details of who can make a claim, is available online. The guidance is also being e-mailed to registered applicants and posted to eligible farmers. Where a farmer has authorised an agent to act on their behalf, the forms and guidance will be sent directly to the agent.
