Seven days, seven transactions

Posted by Lotty Reeves on 1st October 2024

The last seven days have been interesting to say the least for The Endeavour Partnership’s corporate team, led by Insider North East Dealmakers’ nominee for Corporate Lawyer of the Year, James Butler.

The team managed to complete seven transactions within this period, worth an overall total of over £90m, as well as finding time to attend the above-mentioned awards dinner at the Newcastle Gateshead Hilton, where the team were also nominated as Corporate Law Firm of the Year, and had one of their completed transactions nominated for deal of the year.

James told us: “As a team, we have a really good reputation for successfully getting transactions done for our clients; we average five or six each month, however, this last week was a ‘perfect storm’ of transactions that needed to complete at pretty much the same time.”

“We started things off with three company sales, being the sale of a company operating a care home, a manufacturing company sale, and the sale of North West England based Arbtech Consulting Limited to TICC (testing, inspection, certification and compliance) consolidator Celnor, backed by private equity firm Inflexion.

“After that we completed the next phase of a joint venture in Northern Ireland, which was followed by two acquisitions and a further sale to round off the week.”

These were the acquisition of a holiday home management company based in Worchester for rapidly expanding client Host & Stay following its recent investment from Growth Partner and the acquisition of a pawnbroking business to add to a client’s wide range of business holdings. Last but not least the team completed the sale of a company in the home improvement sector.

Business development partner Nigel Williams added: “The awards the team was nominated for at the Insider North East Dealmakers event is evidence of where the team is at in terms of its activity and results. Our competitors are the larger commercial firms in Newcastle (and Leeds for that matter) and we were chuffed to bits about the company we were in in terms of the nominations.

“The team dusted themselves off and are now well into the next round of completions!”
