Local charity benefits from Mock Employment Tribunal event

Posted by Lotty Reeves on 2nd December 2019

Following our annual flagship employment law event, our team with help from Yarm School have donated  £500 to our nominated charity of 2019, Community Campus! A great addition to the year of fundraising we have committed to.

Community Campus combats homelessness by providing affordable housing alongside emotional and practical support across the Tees Valley. The donation of both the venue charge and the ticket price has raised much-needed funds, whilst the event itself provided a valuable opportunity for employers to understand how to prepare for a tribunal hearing.

Endeavour Partnership’s much-awaited mock employment tribunal experience took the audience through a live employment tribunal hearing, demonstrating the process to HR professionals, managers and company directors of the process and showing them how best to prepare for and deal with such an eventuality.

Stephen Elliott, Partner and Head of the Employment team at Endeavour Partnership said: “The prospect of attending an employment tribunal hearing is daunting for any employer. By hosting this event we were able to give employers the opportunity, in a safe space, to experience what actually happens.  We gave helpful advice and suggested practical measures they can take to support their case, should they ever find themselves in a real legal dispute.

“The annual event is always well attended and this year we were pleased to support a local charity by donating the ticket revenue to Community Campus. Yarm School kindly donated the venue hire charge helping to contribute to this amazing figure”.

The event received positive comments from attendees, Dawn Campbell from EEW OSB said: “It is well worth attending this type of event as it gives people in HR a viewpoint of both sides of a tribunal if they have not already been involved in one. I personally have gained invaluable information and guidance that will help me in my HR role.”
